A Little About Me

How My Journey into Neurodivergent Support Began

My journey into working more specifically with neurodivergent people began through my own experience as a mum of a neurodivergent child. It opened my eyes to how difficult it can be for individuals and families to find support from people who genuinely understand neurodivergence and the impact it can have on everyday life.

I became increasingly aware of how often neurodivergent experiences can be misunderstood, overlooked or viewed through a lens that doesn’t fully recognise the individual. I wanted to understand more, not only for my own family, but also for the many other people navigating similar experiences.

Although I already had a background in counselling, this experience encouraged me to look more deeply at neurodivergence, challenge assumptions and develop my understanding beyond my own family’s experience.

That journey led me to undertake further learning and specialist training in neurodivergent coaching. It has helped me bring together my counselling background, my growing knowledge of neurodivergence and a more focused approach to supporting people to understand themselves, recognise their strengths and find approaches that work for them.

My Approach

I believe neurodivergent people deserve support that starts with understanding rather than judgement. You shouldn’t have to spend your time explaining or defending how your brain works, masking your difficulties or trying to meet expectations that don’t reflect your needs.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to meet each person’s individual needs. Counselling offers space to explore emotions, anxiety and difficult experiences, while neurodivergent coaching focuses on self-understanding, strengths, everyday challenges and finding a way forward that feels right for you.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate and ND-affirming. No two people experience neurodivergence in the same way, and I don’t believe there is one right way to think, feel or live.

You don’t need to have all the answers, a formal diagnosis or a clear idea of what you need help with before getting in touch.
